Getting started
What Jobzyl does, what it costs, and what needs an account.
- What Jobzyl doesOne search across every job board we cover, with duplicates collapsed and each listing naming where it came from.
- What needs an account, and what does notSearching, filtering and exporting are open to anyone. Anything that has to persist or be emailed to you needs a free account.
- Running your first searchType a role, check the country, press Search. Results begin arriving within a few seconds and keep arriving as slower boards reply.
- Signing in, and resetting a passwordSign up with an email address and a password of at least 12 characters, then confirm the email. The code in that email also works on a different device.
- Does Jobzyl cost anything?No. There is no paid tier, for job seekers or for employers, and an account costs nothing.
- Using Jobzyl on a phoneEvery screen has a phone layout rather than a shrunken desktop one, including the results list, the job sheet and the application board.
Searching
Writing a query, narrowing it, and sharing what you found.
- Writing a search that worksJob titles beat categories, technology names also match skills pulled from the full posting, and common abbreviations are expanded for you.
- Searching another country, or everywhereThe country box is a guess from your device on a first visit. Clear it to search everywhere, or type any country or city.
- Narrowing a result setThere are 11 ways to narrow a result set, and the count beside each option is what you would be left with if you clicked it.
- Sorting resultsFour orders: best match, newest, salary and CV match. Sorting only reorders, it never removes a row.
- When a search returns nothingEither your filters removed everything, in which case the page names the one responsible, or the index holds nothing yet for that query.
- Why some searches take longerAnything already in the index is instant. A search nobody has run recently has to ask the boards live, and the slowest one sets the pace.
- Sharing and bookmarking a searchA search is a URL. Every keyword, location, filter and sort is in the address bar, so you can bookmark it or send it to someone.
- Recent searchesYour last 20 searches are kept on your account and rerun in a click. Signed out, they live in the page only and are gone when you reload.
- Browsing jobs by role and location200 ready-made pages covering common roles in common places, for when you would rather not type anything.
- Working from the keyboardArrow keys move between results, Home and End jump to the ends, and nothing listens for a bare keystroke.
Your results
Reading a listing, and why pay and dates look the way they do.
- Reading a listingThe full description, the skills we pulled out of it, where it came from, and a direct link to the employer's own posting.
- What is in your resultsA read on the whole result set: the skills it asks for, who is hiring, the shape of the roles, and what they pay.
- Why the same job appears onceA role carried by several boards collapses into one row marked with how many others had it, and the employer's own link wins where there is one.
- Where results come from29 named job boards and aggregators, plus openings pulled straight from companies' own careers pages.
- Why so many listings show no payBecause the employer did not state any. We show pay as it was quoted and drop anything we cannot vouch for, rather than guessing.
- What a pay estimate isWhere the employer stated nothing, we sometimes show what comparable postings paid, on a deliberately different-looking card.
- Salary insightsWhen enough of a result set states pay, a panel summarises the spread and tells you what share of listings it is based on.
- Whether a posting is still openWe spot-check listings against the board that carried them and remove the ones that answer as gone. Most rows have not been checked, and say nothing.
- How fresh the results areThere is no single refresh interval. Popular searches are refreshed far more often than obscure ones, and running one again makes it fresher.
- When a job board failsOne source failing does not fail the search. The others still answer, and the failure is recorded rather than hidden.
- Can a company pay to appear higher in my results?No. Results are ordered by how well they match your words, ties broken by recency, and the ranking has no field for anything else.
CV and AI
Match scores, the writing tools, and what leaves your browser.
- Uploading a CVUpload a PDF or paste plain text, keep as many CVs as you need for different kinds of role, and mark one as the default.
- How the match score worksEither how close the whole posting is to your whole CV, or the share of the posting's named skills that your CV mentions. The panel says which.
- Why a job shows no match scoreBecause the posting names too few skills to judge. A confident 0% would be a much stronger claim than the truth, which is that we cannot tell.
- The AI writing toolsThree tools in the job panel: a cover letter, interview prep, and CV tips. Each reads that posting and your saved CV.
- The AI daily limitFive AI calls per account per rolling 24 hours, shared across all three tools. It is not a midnight reset and nothing unlocks it.
- What happens to your CVEncrypted at rest, held in your browser only for the session, sent to Anthropic only for the three writing tools, and never sent to score a job.
Tracking and alerts
The application board, email digests and follow-up reminders.
- Tracking applicationsA board for everything you have applied to, with notes, dates and a drag-and-drop column per stage.
- The application stages7 stages, left to right, and only the first one is ever set for you.
- Comparing saved jobsPut two or three saved jobs side by side on pay, contract, hours, location and source.
- Job alertsSave a search and get an email when new jobs match it. One digest covering all your alerts, at the cadence you pick.
- When an alert email has not arrivedUsually because nothing new matched. Alerts only email when there is something to report, so silence is the normal quiet state.
- Follow-up remindersSet a follow-up date on a card and get one email that morning listing everything due.
- Unsubscribing from our emailsOne click in any email. Alerts and follow-up reminders unsubscribe separately, and unsubscribing switches alerts off rather than deleting them.
Account and data
Syncing, exporting, deleting, and how long we keep things.
- Your account and syncingA free account carries your saved jobs, alerts, CVs and recent searches between devices.
- Exporting your dataSearch results and your application board export to CSV; your whole account exports to one JSON file.
- Deleting your accountAccount, then Delete account, then type your email to confirm. It is immediate, total, and there is no way to undo it.
- Where your data goesPlainly, per thing: what is stored, what is encrypted, what leaves the country, and what never leaves your browser.
- Cookies and analyticsTwo analytics tools, both named, and neither loads until you accept. Decline and no script is injected at all.
- How long we keep thingsJob postings are archived after 45 days unless you tracked them, and everything else has its own window.
- What Jobzyl will not doThe limits worth knowing before they surprise you, so the rest of this documentation can be read at face value.
- Contacting supportThree addresses, one per kind of question. A bug report is far more useful with the search you ran and what you expected.
