Tracking applications

A board for everything you have applied to, with notes, dates and a drag-and-drop column per stage.

Needs a free account

Two ways a job gets onto the board. Press Apply on any posting and it files itself at Clicked, because opening the employer’s page is the moment worth recording and it is easy to lose track of afterwards. Or save it yourself with the bookmark icon, which files it at Saved. Either way you move it from there.

  • Open the board from Tracker in the navigation, or the Tracker tab on mobile.
  • Drag a card between columns, or work it entirely from the keyboard: space to pick a card up, arrow keys to move it, space to drop.
  • Add notes, an applied date and a follow-up date to any card. Moving a card to Applied fills in today’s date if you have not set one.
  • Clear a whole column when a round of applications is done, and export the board to CSV.
  • On a phone the board shows one column at a time rather than squeezing 7 across the screen.
  • Save a whole result set at once. The "Track all" button in the actions menu names the number it would save and files every job currently passing your filters, which is the fast way to work through a narrowed search. It asks first when there are a lot of them.
  • Your account page opens on a dashboard: how many jobs you saved, applied to and reached each stage with in the last week, plus a 30-day funnel of where applications went.

Saved jobs are written to your browser immediately and synced to your account, so a lost tab does not lose your pipeline. The first time you sign in, anything saved locally is merged with what is already in your account.

Where it stops: Nothing reads your email and nothing watches the employer’s site, so every move after the first is yours to make. The board is a record you keep, not a robot that keeps it for you.
