Tracking applications

Two ways a job gets onto the board. Press Apply in the job panel and it files itself at Clicked, the “Did you apply?” list at the top of the board, because opening the employer’s page is the moment worth recording and it is easy to lose track of afterwards. Or save it yourself with the bookmark icon, which files it at Saved. Either way you move it from there.

• Open the board from Tracker in the navigation, or the Tracker tab on mobile.
• Pick a stage on the left, then a job in the list, and it opens beside the list. Move it with the stage buttons there, one click each. Every title is a link to the posting.
• Add notes, an applied date and a follow-up date to any job. Moving a job to Applied fills in today’s date if you have not set one, and the list then says when to follow up, or how long you have gone without a reply.
• Did you apply? Jobs you opened with Apply wait in their own list at the top, each with Applied, Not yet and Remove. Applied moves it with today’s date.
• Remove all the jobs in a stage from the top of its list when a round of applications is done. Any removal can be undone for a few seconds, and you can export the board to CSV.
• On a phone the stages are tabs along the top, and a job opens full screen with Back to return to the list.
• Save a whole result set at once. The "Track all" button in the actions menu names the number it would save and files every job currently passing your filters, which is the fast way to work through a narrowed search. It asks first when there are a lot of them.
• Your account page opens on a dashboard: the jobs you saved in the last week, grouped by the stage each is at now, plus a 30-day funnel of where applications went.
