How fresh the results are

There is no single refresh interval. Popular searches are refreshed far more often than obscure ones, and running one again makes it fresher.

There is deliberately no "the index refreshes every N hours" number, because there is no such thing. The index is refreshed continuously, in priority order, against a fixed budget, so a heavily searched role is refreshed far more often than an obscure one, and a keyword nobody has ever searched may wait days.

  • Running a search makes it fresher. A search served from the index also kicks off a fresh fetch in the background, so the same search again is newer than the first time.
  • The search box is the freshest thing on the site. The ready-made category pages are refreshed twice a day, so they lag it by design.

Where it stops: Fresh means recently fetched, not recently posted, and it is not a promise that a listing is still open. See whether a posting is still open.
